Meet the Team:
Sam Russell, Field Supervisor
Sam Russell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Auckland, and has since gained valuable experience in ecological restoration here at Te Ngahere, working roles within the field from team member to team leader positions.
His experience includes time working across Auckland’s parks, as well as the
Islands of the Hauraki Gulf. Sam has spent 4 months living on Hauturu / Little
Barrier Island as part of the weed team, as well as participating in weed control
and rodent eradication on other islands of the Gulf. He is a part of our health
and safety committee, and is committed to ensuring a safe work environment for
Sam spends as much of his time as possible either on or under the water – a keen surfer, fisherman, and diver.
